PowerBlock Dumbbells

PowerBlocks are dumbbells whose weight you can easily adjust. This makes them very practical because 1 dumbbell replaces an entire rack of weights. Think of the efficiency, both spacial and financial, that this brings. The names of the models are a reference to their weight in pounds (lbs).

How does it work?

Changing the weight of a dumbbell has to be difficult and time consuming, right? Not at all. You simply put the dumbbell down and slide the pin into the desired weight slot. Now when you lift it up, only the weight compartments that you selected will come up, while the rest stays put.

What are the differences between the Sport and Pro series?

The Sport series is more of an entry level to PowerBlock. They are absolutely sufficient in regard to weight and quality, but a few perks are absent compared to the Pro series. Features like the possibility to add accessories such as bars and handles to make the dumbbells more versatile. Aside from utility differences, the Pro series is of higher quality due to its urethane coated steel plates that can withstand more accidental drops and long term usage. The material makes for a smooth and quiet performance as well.

What are the differences between the regular and the EXP models?

The non-expendable models, both Sport and Pro, have a set maximum weight. They can of course be adjusted, but can't be extended further than their maximum weight. If you buy, for example, the Pro 50 set and know that 50 lbs (22,7 kg) will always be enough for you, then there's no need to choose the expendable model. If you think you'll outgrow the maximum weight however, it might be wise to buy an expendable model to which you can always add more weight later.
